Fresh Or Salted?

Problem:    Which is colder, iced fresh water or iced salted water?

Hypothesis:

Materials:

1.    10 ice cubes

2.    2 paper cups

3.    1 tablespoon salt

4.    2 sensors/Danas/LabPro

5.    Pen

Procedure:

1.    Label one cup "salted" and the other cup "fresh".

2.    Set up the Danas/sensors:

        second/samples: 60

        # of samples:    30

3.    Place a sensor in each cup

4.    Place 5 ice cubes around each sensor.

5.    Pour the salt in the cup you labeled "salted".

6.    After 30 minutes, read the ending temperature on the Dana.

   What would you do differently next time.  What factors could have made your results different than other groups?
