DANCE COMMITTEE
CHAPERONE INFORMATION
1. Everyone who is on the dance committee is obligated to chaperone all dances, that is the purpose of the committee. You can double up with someone and split the number of dances you chaperone. Please call a chairperson if you cannot attend a dance, otherwise we'll see you at the dances.
2. Dance hours are 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
3. Chaperones must be there at 6:30-6:45 PM. Some chaperones may be asked to arrive earlier to assist with set-up.
4. Chaperones will be stationed at each door, 2 sets of double doors at hallway entrances, emergency exit door in the gym and in the hallway at restrooms.
5. Additional Chaperones are to walk around the dance floor, check attendance and collect dance fees at the entrance door and work the front desk.
6. Entrance door will be locked at 7:45 PM, late arrivals can come in the back kitchen/snack stand door.
7. Only R.W. Kershaw students are permitted to attend the dance.
8. No student is permitted to leave the gym. If a student must leave early, a parent or guardian will have to come into the gym to pick them up. Chaperones should know if someone has permission to leave early.
9. All students are dismissed at 9:00 PM and may leave once doors are open.
10. Locker rooms will not be open. Students can use restrooms in the hallway. Only 2 girls and 2 boys are permitted to leave the gym at one time. They can only use the hallway entrance doors into the gym.
11. All school rules apply - dress code, etc.
12. No play toys - balls or throwing of anything.
13. No running, playing keep-away or any type of roughness, no climbing on wall mats or doing anything where someone can be injured.
14. No inappropriate dancing is permitted.
15. Any problems should be addressed and reported to the dance chairperson or co-chairperson.
Thank you for your help and volunteered time.
Without your continued support, the Kershaw dances would not be possible.
