The hallways of Mary Bray are bright with suns
as the students helped the victims of Hurricane Katrina!
For every dollar donated, a yellow sun with a name is shining in our school!
Teachers joined the effort with Khakis for Katrina each Friday!
A total of $615.00 was collected.
$209.00 was used to purchase books through Scholastic and were shipped to
the Santa Rosa County Sheriff Office in Milton, Florida.
They sponsor the "Bear and a Buck" program for Hurricane Katrina Relief.
The books were then sent to the Waveland Elementary School in Waveland, Mississippi
which was totally destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
$100.00 was given to the Mount Ephraim Methodist Church and will be used to help fund the cost of shipping the stuffed bears from the "Bear and a Buck" program.
The remainder was sent to the American Red Cross.
