To all safety patrol members

In order for you to do your job effectively, please review the following procedures:

• Please be on time.  A.M. duty begins at 8:00.  You must be on your corner for P.M. duty by 3:00. 
   

• Do not leave your corner early without permission from me or the crossing guard. 
                              

• You are to stay on your corner until 8:25 AM and 3:25 PM. 
   

• Safety belts must be worn while on duty.  They must be visible. 
   

• You must get coverage if you are unable to take your corner.
  1.  If you are unable to take your corner in the AM due to illness, call your partner early.  If your partner is unable to cover for you, call one of the captains early.
  2.  If you are unable to take your corner in the PM let your partner know as soon as possible.  If your partner is unable to cover for you try someone else (a substitute or a safety not on duty).  If you are having difficulty finding coverage let a captain know early.
   

• You must have a valid reason for not taking your corner.  After school sports and many after school activities can be attended after you are off duty.  After school activities are announced in advance.  If you need coverage, get it early.  Don't wait until the last minute!
   

• Partners, try to compromise with one another.  If you need coverage make a deal with your partner to take his/her corner for them one day during your off week. 
   

• You are on duty for one week and off the following week.
   

• Please report any problems to your captain or me immediately.
